About Us
We are a small family run business in Barnoldswick, Lancashire on the Lancashire / Yorkshire border, very close to the Yorkshire Dales.
We have always been concerned about the quality of our food and where it comes from so, in the summer of 2008, when we were given the opportunity to have a piece of land in rural Lancashire to grow our own food, we jumped at it.
Since then, we have grown from putting a few of our own spuds and a couple of our own eggs on to our plates to our own Sunday Roasts and fry-ups - and the healthy side-salad. Hopefully in a few years we'll be enjoying our own cider, perry and mead!
An absolute must for us is to ensure that we follow, at a minimum, organic principles, especially when we are so fervently against genetically modified (GM) food and crops. Needless to say, all our chickens and pigs are outdoor-reared and fed on a GM-free diet, our livestock housing is made from FSC certified wood and, on our land, we work with nature - our plough is our pig(s).
